WHAT TO EXPECT AT HANDLING PHYSICAL THERAPY DURING COVID-19

We Can Help Reduce Pain and Achieve Your Goals Services

DIRECT ACCESS

Appointments AVAILABLE within 24-48 hours with no referral required

In Delaware, a physical therapist may treat a person for up to 30 days from the date of the first visit without a script from a doctor. After 30 days, the patient must be seen by a licensed physician. If you have Medicare or Medicaid, you must have a PT script from a licensed physician before your initial appointment. Your insurance benefits will be verified prior to your first visit.

Workers Compensation & Automobile Injuries

We understand how life-altering an auto or work-related injury can be for a patient, but don’t worry, we can help! Handling Physical Therapy will act as your advocate during this process. We accept all workers’ compensation benefits and auto insurance plans.

Manual Therapy

We believe a clinical approach, utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques is the way to go. We use these techniques to assess and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of eliminating pain. In addition, manual therapy can increase range of motion (ROM), decrease soft tissue inflammation, aid contractile and non-contractile tissue repair and extensibility, facilitating movement, and maximizing function. Hands on therapy can treat a wide variety of health conditions and is typically part of a complete treatment plan that is customized for your specific needs.

Sports Medicine

As a Certified Athletic Trainer, Tom Handling, offers sports rehabilitation services to help you get back in the game. We offer customized rehabilitation plans catered to each athlete as we understand no two injuries are alike. We’ve worked with athletes at all levels of competition, including some of the most famous at the professional level, so we feel confident that we can get you back in the game quickly.
